Originally trained as a sculptor, since 1982 I have worked mainly in the medium of textile based artworks. I have exhibited widely in this country and abroad and received several awards for my work.
I
have worked professionally with architects, public art
consultants, community groups and
corporate clients on a wide variety of commissioned projects. These include a tapestry for the House of Lords offices, a set of large tapestry-woven cushions for Lambeth Palace Chapel;
tapestries, banners and carpets for theatres, hospitals and schools and a major commission for the Ministry of Agriculture. I have tapestries,
rugs and paintings in public and private collections here in the UK and abroad.
Recently
I have been working with a Health and Social Services Trust
in Belfast on several commissions for Community Treatment Centres.
I
have also had my work published in a Taiwanese book on the value
of
Public Art in Healthcare featuring artwork from around the world
I am a member of the Selected Makers Index of the Crafts Council of Great Britain.
