Public and Private Commissions
Jeni Ross is an established designer/maker. Commissions form an important part of her work. Each project is different and affords an exciting challenge to combine colour, movement and content and to integrate these sympathetically into a specific location.
Commissioned interior artworks include woven tapestries, tufted textile wall hangings and rugs. Work can be seen in public buildings throughout the UK including hospitals, theatres, schools, museums, a major scientific centre and the Government Art Collection. Private commissions include one off tapestries and tufted rugs.
The medium of textile transforms the design with an additional language of intensity and depth of colour not available in any other medium. It is this translation of image into a tactile structure that makes it so effective in an architectural setting.
